Business Issue:
With the acquisition of 23 companies over the past several years, Teledyne Marine needed a single unifying message and a refreshed branding that was flexible enough and simple enough to fit all the new acquisitions.
Solution:
GrayMatter conducted qualitative research with the executive team and key customers and prospects. With the research in hand, we developed new positioning and messaging. After presenting several options that were validated through testing, “Our passion runs deep” was selected. We then created a brand manifesto that captured the values and passion of the company. With that, we produced a corporate brand video and employee branding materials so everyone from the board of directors, to the staff at the front desk would become immersed in the new branding.
On a parallel path we developed three unique visual options to revitalize the brand look and feel. Working closely with our marketing counterparts at Teledyne we produced a new brand standards document, new corporate communication materials, and an executive company presentation.
Results:
The executive board and the marketing team were overwhelmingly pleased with the new positioning and brand rollout. In fact, one of the members of the leadership team recommended us to one of their key customers, Oceaneering, for additional projects.
